Winter Haven

After I graduated high school in 2010 I knew I needed something to work towards, I always knew in my mind I wanted to be a martial artist but I suppose I never took that thought seriously, chalking it up to a silly dream I was not athletic at all going through school, So when I first started I did not do very well or so I felt. Training with a tough team of Fighters from Central Florida I always felt like I was the smallest, weakest of the group almost like I was the little brother. I learned early on to fight the smart fight to make up for my lack of athleticism. I never allowed myself to quit, I knew that just because something was hard, is not a reason to stop doing it. I have competed in over ten Jiu-Jitsu tournaments, never allowing myself to go too long without testing myself. Never allowing my anxiety or uncertainty of the outcome stop me from doing something, like it used to do when I was younger. In our gym at the time Central Florida MMA, we were purely an MMA/No Gi school, so the majority of my training was without a Gi. Now I am a 4-Stripe Blue Belt with Carlson Gracie Winter Haven, still with my original coaches, but now incredibly fortunate to also be under the guidance of Andrew Kinchen, Rafa Santos and a whole incredible team. In the past few years since we have joined Carlson Gracie my skill level has increased exponentially and I am now a Jiu-Jitsu Coach, which is still unbelievable to me sometimes. I love that I had the life experiences I did, I have developed into an athletic, explosive, technical fighter. I love being a Coach and helping to influence people of all ages, From Kids to Adults, I love to build people up. To give solutions to people who might have felt what I felt all those years ago. With the support of my Coaches, Friends, and my Loving Wife. I have burned the ships and I know this is something I am meant to do. I am a Jiu-Jitsu Coach.
